Is it a living or non-living object? That was the question for our young Kindergarten scientists as they examined gummy worms and earthworms with a guest scientist. Once they had conducted and finished their study they released the earthworms onto the playground and watched them wiggle away. 🪱

Heritage Day was a great day for our students! Students were transported back in time to the 1800's in Oklahoma. Some of the activities involved students making butter, learning about outdoor cooking, trying grape cobbler, square dancing, and watching a blacksmith share his craft with the students. Students were also transported back in time through story telling, learning beading, and learning more about the craft of wood carving. A giant floor sized map of Oklahoma allowed students to learn where rivers, roads, towns, and historical sites are located in Oklahoma. Thank you to the Pauls Valley Foundation for Academic Excellence for funding Ms. Miller's grant about Oklahoma. Thank you Ms. Miller for bringing this wonderful day to Whitebead. Also, a big thank you to the Whitebead PTO for your continued support in helping to enrich the lives of our students.

At this time Whitebead Schools is currently out of power. We are expecting it to be restored around when the school day starts. At this time we plan on having school and buses are on their normal schedule.

Exciting News for Whitebead School!
The Garvin County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce a new partnership with Whitebead School to provide a School Resource Officer (SRO) on campus!
We’re pleased to introduce Deputy Greg Roberson, who will be taking on this important role. As the new SRO, Deputy Roberson will work closely with students, staff, and parents to ensure a safe and positive learning environment. His presence will strengthen security, provide mentorship opportunities, and foster relationships that build trust between law enforcement and our youth.

Whitebead Third graders recently visited the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum. Students dressed in period clothing, participated in a Land Run, and learned so much about Oklahoma history. This activity is one part of a Pauls Valley Foundation for Academic Excellence grant written by Third grade teacher Mrs. Miller. Additional activities will take place this week through the grant "Oklahoma From Territory to Statehood From Different Cultures and Points of View." Thank you Pauls Valley Foundation for Academic Excellence and Mrs. Miller for this fun and interactive experience for our students.
Whitebead JOM 3rd-8th grade students enjoyed the morning at TopGolf!
🎢 Fourth grade students have been busy studying the effects of energy, force, and motion in science class.
Students designed and built short roller coasters. Through the roller coaster activity students were able to see a transfer of energy from one marble to another. The students' objective was to knock one marble off the end of the track without the first marble falling off. Way to go 4th grade scientists!! 🎢

These two classes received a Seuss-inspired treat for their creative work.

Our 8th grade students had a great time visiting the Mid-America Technology Center's Career Expo, where they discovered exciting opportunities to explore starting in high school.
