Whitebead Public School

Whitebead Schools will move to virtual education tomorrow. Based on reports from the National Weather Service we believe there is a good chance of winter precipitation before and during afternoon bus routes and parent pick ups would be taking place. If your student has an IEP their contingency plan is in place till we return to school.

The Student Council will be doing a fundraiser for one of our janitors, Maribel Lira, at school. She has been diagnosed with cancer and had surgery recently. We are raising money for her and her family during this time of need. During the 8th Grade Night for basketball on Jan. 28th, the Student Council will be selling tickets for a chance to win in a shooting competition. Tickets will be sold at the game. Donations are also welcome for those that want to help but not compete. Attached is a flyer for the fundraiser.

Preorder your tickets now! We had so much fun last year, let's do it again! Join us for the Daddy Daughter & Mother Son Dance. The community is invited to attend. Students must be accompanied by an adult. You can purchase tickets through Mrs. Shippey and Mrs. Prieto directly. All money raised goes to the 8th Grade Class. Hope to see you there!

🌶️🏆 Whitebead Staff Chili Cook-Off Winners!🏆🌶️ Our Whitebead staff brought the heat with some seriously delicious chili! After lots of tasting and tough decisions, here are the winners of this year’s Chili Cook-Off: 🥇 1st Place: Susan Capers 🥈 2nd Place: James Vines 🥉 3rd Place: Ingrid Wood A big thank you to some of our PTO and School Board members who volunteered their time to serve as judges and helped with our baked potato bar and prizes. Whitebead School is grateful for community partners who support our students. We would like to share information about a Community Clothing Closet hosted by Paul's Valley Nazarene Church for families who may be in need of clothing or shoes.

Mr. Patton's 4th grade class had some special visitors this week who spread some holiday cheer by handing out goodies! 🎄

Pre-K fun with Mrs. Briscoe! Play-doh making and our first movie field trip 🍿🎨🎬

Our 6th grade science students put their engineering skills to the test by designing thermal insulating devices to keep temperatures stable.

All Aboard the Polar Express! Whitebead First Graders boarded the Heartland Flyer today traveling to Ardmore, Oklahoma to meet Santa. The students loved seeing the Arbuckle Mountains and the beautiful views of the river while enjoying hot chocolate. Thank you to the Pauls Valley Foundation of Academic Excellence for awarding this grant written by Mrs. Shippey to help make this trip an experience they will never forget.
