Whitebead JOM 3rd-8th grade students enjoyed the morning at TopGolf!

🎢 Fourth grade students have been busy studying the effects of energy, force, and motion in science class.
Students designed and built short roller coasters. Through the roller coaster activity students were able to see a transfer of energy from one marble to another. The students' objective was to knock one marble off the end of the track without the first marble falling off. Way to go 4th grade scientists!! 🎢

Smart servings in nutrition are key to maintaining a healthy diet and managing weight. By understanding appropriate portion sizes, you can enjoy a variety of foods while ensuring you get the right balance of nutrients. This approach encourages mindful eating, helping you recognize hunger cues and make better choices. Incorporating smart servings not only supports your health goals but also fosters a positive relationship with food, allowing you to savor meals without overindulging. Remember, it's not just what you eat, but how much you eat that matters!

Our students enjoyed a visit from the Mobile Dairy and Stella, the dairy cow, today. It was Stella's second day on the job and she helped our students learn about dairy cows, dairy products, and many other things. They were amazed to learn that she eats about 40 lbs. of food each day and weighs about 900 lbs. too! Thank you Mrs. Briscoe for inviting Mobile Dairy to come see us!

Fifth grade students have spent the last quarter studying earth's systems, how they interact, and what we can do to keep Earth healthy. Students recently presented their research to classmates showing how Earth's systems interact in different environments. Then students made terrariums representing enclosed mini-ecosystems that rely on photosynthesis and the water cycle to self-sustain.
